Landscape Architect

Landscape Architects at VITA are design innovators, breathing life and passion into our design forms. Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Master plan and design land areas for multiple projects
  • Analyze, draft, develop and review comprehensive drawings, specifications, plans and programs for the utilization of land, buildings, and physical facilities within cities, counties, and metropolitan areas
  • Confer with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planners and land use development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements for landscapes and physical facilities within urban, residential, commercial, industrial and recreational communities
  • Analyze various planning data, and prepare technical, graphic and narrative reports for use in landscape architecture
  • Review environmental impact reports and incorporate data into specified private and public planning projects and programs
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) to prepare detailed plans indicating new topography, vegetation, walkways, and other landscape details, such as but not limited to fountains and decorative features, site structures, landscape grading plan, planting plan coordinating arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures
  • Analyze, prepare and submit design proposals for approval to regulatory agencies and clients. Utilize hand graphics and work with the following software: AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, LandFX, Trimble SketchUp, V-Ray, and Microsoft Office
  • Will work under State of California licensed landscape architect

Education

  • Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or closely related

Experience

  • 24 months of experience in job offered, or as Urban Designer and Landscape Architect, or as Landscape Designer, or closely related position
  • 24 months of experience in utilizing Computer-Aided Design, through AutoCAD or similar software
  • 24 months of experience in drafting design plans

Other Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
